A friend and I had the opportunity to fish with "We Pound'Em Fishing Adventures" on July 11th, 2010 out of Port Whitby Marina. The main target of the day was the King (Chinook) Salmon. Let me tell you, we were not let down. First fish came within minutes of dropping the rods in the water. Then it was game on. Ryan and Dan definitely know how to put you on the fish. Rods were going off consistently during the day with several doubles happening as well.  Watching them set up the riggers, lead core rigs and copper rigs was like watching a finely choreographed production. How they don’t get all tangled up is beyond me. We lost count of the fish during the day but if I was to guess it would be around 20 or so. Rainbows, Browns and Chinooks were all caught during the day. We’ll definitely be back!!!

After watching Ryan masterfully out-fish everyone on the hard water all winter long, I thought who better to hit Simcoe with in search of big lakers?   Less than twenty-minutes after launch Capt’n Hare had us on fish, with 13 healthy LTs--  upwards of 10lbs, landed in a few hours.  This guy knows his craft and lived up to his handle ‘Troutguy’ by kept our rods bending all morning.  My buddies and I had a blast and We Pound Em Fishing exceeded all of our expectations.  We’ll definitely be back!

I spent the morning out on Lake Simcoe fishing Lake Trout with Ryan from “We Pound Em” sport fishing and a couple of friends from university. I’ve caught a lot of fish before but never like this. Ryan got us started early (6:30) in the morning and we were in the pocket by 8AM. We hooked into fifteen lakers in 4 hours all around the 7 to 10 pound range. It was a blast pulling these beauties out one after another and we even got a couple of double headers !!!!

Judging by his constant smile I think Ryan was having as much fun as we were although he was working hard. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I had never been out with a guide before, but Ryan was like an old friend before we knew it. His skills as a guide and helpful advice were invaluable in making this a great day of fishing Thanks Ryan, you know we’ll be back !!!!

Ken OGorman with Large Fish

I just returned from salmon fishing on Lake Ontario with Ryan at “We Pound Em” sportfishing. What a day !!!! We were out for a mere 3 ½ hours and hooked into 5 chunky Chinooks. Using Ryan’s guidance, I landed my biggest fish so far (26 ½ pounds) and that’s a fight I won’t soon forget.

Ryan’s easy going personality and friendly advice makes it a real pleasure to be out on the water with him. It’s not just a job for Ryan, he truly loves being out on the water helping people catch fish. He knows exactly where to go, what to use and when to go to hook into these lunkers. His boat is clean, the equipment well maintained, and his turkey sandwiches are legendary !!!!

If you want to catch fish and have fun doing it, “We Pound Em” is who you want to be out on the water with.

Captain Ryan took us out to a great hotspot and I managed to catch two whoppers, both Chinoooks weighing in at 18 and 25 lbs.  This was an incredibly exciting and fun afternoon with a great host who knows where and how to land the big ones.  We-Pound-Em Tours is first rate.
